Viral Professional Development

You’ve probably discovered much of my blog has to do with Viral Professional Development, or VPD. VPD is based on the popular definition of “viral,” that refers to a technology, tool, or teaching strategy that is quickly spread from one person to another. I have the great pleasure to work at an institution where I have flexibility in creating professional development opportunities for instructors transitioning from traditional face-to-face instruction to eLearning. VPD has been a great success for us in both training instructors, and changing the culture of our institution.

The primary goal of VPD is to grow a culture of sharing, where instructors learn from each other and spread the knowledge throughout the organization. I enjoy sharing my experiences with VPD and encourage you to join the discussion here and on your own blogs. The concept is constantly evolving as I learn more about what is working for others. For more information on how VPD is working for us, feel free to contact me at edtechjen @ gmail dot com.
