Mourning Scrabulous

I know this is going to sound ridiculously silly, but I am just torn up about the death of Facebook Scrabulous. Yes, I knew it was coming, and I should have been more prepared. I’ve followed the discussions on Object-Centered Sociality, and the arguments about what constitutes an object, and to me, Scrabulous [...]

Apologies For Delayed Comment Responses

I’m apologizing here for my delayed responses to so many amazing comments.  I am trying to catch up and will break all the etiquette rules by responding to multiple comments in a single post.  I suppose I also have to apologize for spamming up your reader with this silly message :)  Sorry!

Roles of IT and eLearning Departments

On my campus, we’re trying to define the roles of IT and eLearning.  To me, it just seems so clear.  To IT, it’s not.  The hard thing is that I am best known for saying instructors can use whatever tools they want.  I will look at their objectives, share options I think will work best [...]

Economic Stimulus

Saturday we checked the mail, like we do every few weeks or so, and we had received the “Economic Stimulus” check. I looked at it for a bit, trying to think of how to responsibly use it to stimulate the economy. It didn’t come with instructions. I looked out [...]
