Celebrating the Power of the Network

Tonight I am celebrating the power of the network. I just accepted the position as Director of Distance Learning at Bellingham Technical College. I give a huge credit to Twitter and the network it helped me build. These Ed Techies never sleep and are always around to answer questions or shout out to an audience. If I hadn’t joined this network, I would never have been able to ramp up my ed tech skills so quickly. While I have degrees and experience, my most recent work has been in developing program building materials in Life Science Informatics. I truly believe that without all the leads and commentary I followed in Twitter, I would not have been qualified to apply for this position. I look forward to continuing my participation in the network and hopefully contributing as much as I have received!

Congrats again, and I just think it is so neat how the network worked for you. I truly believe blogging, and now twitter, has taking me farther than I would have been by myself, in the way we used to do things.

It’s great that a person with your proven knowledge and now, your proven network, will be in a position of leadership like this. I hope you are able to show those you work with, and more importantly, the students what you have learned, and what you continue to learn.

All the best in your new position!
