What if you spent the day trying to make your boss look good? Do you know what your boss is working on right now? Is there something you can do to make their job easier? Can you volunteer to cover a meeting, make a phone call, do some research? Instead of building frustration around your duties, consider the responsibilities of those above you. There must be something you can do that will make them look stellar. This will reflect down on you. Others at the top will notice you. Your boss will feel more confident in your abilities and your commitment to the team.
If you work for yourself, what can you do to make yourself look better? Spend a few minutes to summarize your current projects and send a note to friends and family.
